Joseph Gordon-Levitt is closer to signing a deal that will allow him to produce, direct, and star in an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s, Sandman. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) pitched the comic book to Warner Bros. The original series was published by DC Comics; Warner Bros. is scoping out a writer to adapt it for the big screen. The series tells the story of a character named Dream, who sets out for vengeance in the modern world after being held prisoner for 70 years. The synopsis reveals a lot more. I’ll let you do more research if you’re interested in plot details. This will be Gordon-Levitt’s second directorial effort if he signs on.
